PARIS, France. December 12 (PSN) – The official draw for the UEFA EURO 2016 final tournament group stage was done in Paris on Saturday
Poland were drawn to Group C in which Germany will be a big favourite.
Fortunately, the Poles have proven in the qualifying stage that they are more than capable of going head to head with the Germans. For Poland coach Adam Nawalka the main worry instead was to be grouped with host nation France.
In addition to the Germans in Group C, the Poles will play against Ukraine and Northern Ireland.
“I must admit that I am happy with the draw.” said Poland Football Federation president Zbigniew Boniek after the draw in Paris.
“I will not say that we are the favorites to advance, because we got a hard group. We face a very demanding rivals, but certainly we are not at a disadvantage.” he added.
The tournament will begin in July. Nawalka’s men will take to the French fields on June 12 in Nice with Northern Ireland.
A good result in the match against the Irish will help bring a much more calm approach to the matches against the tougher opponents – Germany and Ukraine.
Four days after the match against Northern Ireland, Poland will face Germany at the Stade de France in Paris.
For the closing third group match Ukraine will be the opponent for the bialo-czerwoni at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille on June 21.
