KRAKOW, Poland. June 6 (PSN) – The Polish national team’s last test before UEFA EURO 2016 ended with a goalless draw with Lithuania.
After the match Poland manager Adam Nawalka did not hold back his disappointment.
“It’s a great shame that the fans did not see goals today, but the most important form has to come for France,” he said
“The Lithuanians were a very tough opponent. They played hard, but it’s good – the Irish will present a similar style. Our players must be prepared to fight from the first whistle in France.”
Robert Lewandowski, who was rested for the game against Lithuania, also gave his thoughts on the two exhibition matches.
“Our performance in the two test games was far from excellent, there is much to still be improved. But on the other hand, with the start of the EURO these matches will cease to be relevant. Then we have to show what we can do.
“I remember four years ago with the EURO in Poland and Ukraine, we were winning games and then when it all began, things went downhill. We hope that now – after a defeat and a draw – it’s time to win.”
