Bialo-Czerwoni Salvage a Point in Astana

ASTANA, Kazakhstan. September 4 (PSN) – In the opening game of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying the Poland national team drew 2:2 against Kazakhstan in Astana.

Final Score: Kazakhstan – Poland 2:2

This was the first round of games in Group E for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying.

Adam Nawalka’s side descended at the break with a two goal lead, which came courtesy from Bartosz Kapustka and later Robert Lewandowski from the penalty spot.

Unfortunately, the bialo-czerwoni started the second half feebly and the Kazakhs quickly leveled after two goals from former Korona Kielce striker – Sergei Khizhnichenko.

Poland now sit in third place in Group E with a point. Considering Romania and Montenegro have still yet to play their fixture than Poland’s position may drop.

Nawalka will have to learn from this game and do his best to prepare his team for Poland’s next 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Denmark on October 8.

The Danes currently lead Group E after a 1:0 win with Armenia.
