WARSAW, Poland. May 7 (PSN) – On the air of Sunday’s Cafe Futbol talk show, PZPN Secretary General Maciej Sawicki gave an interesting statement regarding Adam Nawalka’s future as manager of the Poland National Team.
According to Sawicki, its not even clear yet to the PZPN if whether Nawalka will remain in his position after the 2018 FIFA World Cup, regardless of Poland’s results at the tournament.
“Adam Nawalka’s motivation may lead him to want to work in a European club to try his hand at that kind of level. We’ll have to wait and see,” said the PZPN representative in an interview with Mateusz Borek in Cafe Futbol.
“I wish the coach the best, I would like for him to continue and develop with us as long as possible, because the results are good, but if he decides he wants to have other professional challenges, than I think we will all support him in that.” added Sawicki.
The 60-year-old coach took the reins of the national football team back in November 2013. So far he has led the Polish national team in 45 matches, in which the bialo-czerwoni won 25 times, while 12 ended as draws, and 9 finishes as losses.
It has been known for a long time that Nawalka’s favourite league is the Serie A, which could be a strong possibility of where he may be heading after the summer. Meanwhile, the Krakow-born coach has also been linked with a move to China as well with Legia Warsaw. However, it’s understood he is mostly interested in coaching abroad after his contract with Poland has concluded.
